Flourish Wellness + Birth Co. was founded on a vision to create a safe place for women and families to be seen, known, and heard.
We want our patients to feel safe to make healthcare requests, ask healthcare questions, and know that we are here to partner with them in finding what feels like a good fit for care. We started as the first free standing midwife owned birth center in South Dakota and have evolved to also include a wellness clinic that provides care with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention for all members of the family.

First and foremost, my husband Jeremy and I have 3 beautiful children. We live on an acreage North of Humboldt with our 2 dogs, Tikka and Nova. I absolutely love anything outdoors, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, playing in our local coed volleyball league, and running to all of my kids’ various activities.
I am an Enneagram 9 (peacemaker). I love a tranquil environment and helping others find their peace and security as well. Midwifery feels like a calling for me and helping mamas recognize their own power and potential brings me so much energy and JOY!
I graduated from Lennox High School in 2001 and attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA for a hot second until transferring to South Dakota State University to be with the love of my life. I graduated in 2004 with a major in Journalism. I loved the creativity and freedom the profession had to offer, however, it didn’t take me long to realize it was not my calling. It did not bring me joy and purpose the same way caring for other people did. I returned to SDSU and completed their accelerated nursing program and graduated with my BSN in 2007. I practiced as a RN at Sanford Hospital for 8 years and was a maternal flight nurse for 6 of those years. I graduated from Frontier Nursing University with my Certified Nurse Midwife Degree in 2015 and transitioned into a provider role at Sanford where I worked for the past 6.5 years in a full-scope CNM practice.
I’ve been a wife for 21 years and am a mama to 4 kiddos and of course I can’t forget my dog mom duties to our sweet golden doodles! I’m an Enneagram 8 (if you don’t know yours…I highly recommend getting curious!), a daily disciple, and immensely passionate individual. When I’m not helping deliver babies or hugging my own, I love traveling, reading a good book, hiking and being in nature. I breathe easier in the mountains or by the ocean.
I am a protector; peace seeker; and nurturer by nature. Choosing to become a midwife has truly changed the way I felt about work. I now get to help other women feel empowered as they bring their babies into this world and care and provide for their families. My life goal is to have those who come into my presence and feel seen, known, loved and have a strong desire to know Jesus more.
I graduated from Lennox High School in 1999-yup “in the 1900s” as the kids tell me. From there, I went on to graduate from Azusa Pacific University with a Degree in Molecular Biology. After spending some time at home with the kiddos, and teaching at a local college, I returned to NCC and completed their Associates of Nursing Degree in 2011. I practiced nursing in California, Iowa and eventually Haiti where our family lived and served for 2.5 years. During that time, I realized that if you could keep mamas healthy and alive, families survived and even THRIVED! Sarah and I decided to go back to midwifery school and graduated from Frontier Nursing University with our Certified Nurse Midwife Degrees in 2015. What a gift it has been to be on this journey together! We cannot wait to come alongside you in your care. It truly is our JOY and privilege.
I’m so excited to be here! I have fifteen years of healthcare experience working with patients across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including the ER, urgent care, and clinic. I also have ten years of experience working as a healthcare educator and have done research focusing on lifestyle modification.
I have been praying for an opportunity to implement an integrative/functional medicine practice model and when I was asked to join the team at Flourish it felt like just the right time to take the leap of faith. My true passion over the years has been health promotion and disease prevention and I’m excited to be able to partner with my patients in finding unique ways of becoming well. I’m so hopeful that our team will make an impact on our community.
In my spare time I’m usually making food or cleaning our entry way… kidding, but not really! My husband and I have four boys that keep us somewhere in the middle of stressed and overjoyed. I’m a 9 on the Enneagram and love to cook, travel, and read. I live by the famous Beatles lyrics, “I get by with a little help from my friends”.
I have been married to my best friend, Kelly, for nearly 8 years. I enjoy anything and everything outdoors, watching sports, playing games (anything competitive), spending time with family, traveling and meeting new people.
I have been a nurse for eight years; two years working in Hematology/Oncology and six years working in Women’s Health. About a year into my nursing career, I decided to go back to school for a Degree in Interior Design- I love being creative and seeing things come together in their own unique way. Who says you can’t have more than one passion?! Which leads to my Enneagram: I am an Enneagram 7 (The Enthusiast) and truly, I am not surprised! Sevens are often very busy people who bounce from one activity to another in their quest to squeeze every possible bit of excitement out of life. I have been working on my Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management while working full-time and raising my crazy kiddos. Talk about excitement!
I previously worked closely with Erin and Sarah at Sanford, and I feel blessed to say I am apart of the Flourish Team. I’m excited to be on this journey because my heart and soul resides in Women’s Health. I look forward to forming relationships with women and families during the most precious, memorable times of their lives.
For the past 8 years I’ve worked as a nurse- 5 of them in Cardiology and the last 3 in Labor & Delivery. I found my passion in Women’s Health after having my first baby. I had the personal opportunity to be with Erin and Sarah throughout my pregnancy journeys. I knew after my amazing experience with them, I wanted to be that advocate & support for all mamas & families during that special time in their life. I want to help women feel empowered & seen when they are in such a vulnerable state.
I am married to my husband Sam of 6 years and together we have 2 sweet, wild boys. We live on an acreage near Beresford. When I’m not busy chasing my kiddos I enjoy anything outdoors from camping, gardening, traveling and just living the peaceful, country life.
I know Women’s Health is my ultimate calling & I feel so blessed to be a part of the Flourish family.
My husband, Cole and I have have 2 kids. They are both sophomores, just one in college and the other in high school.
I have been a nurse for 18 years and am passionate about so many specialties! I have worked in the NICU, postpartum, pediatrics, insurance review, case management and 2 years ago, I became certified in psychiatric-mental health nursing. I feel that everyone has a story to tell and I love being there for people when they need to be heard. Even though I talk a lot…I am a really good listener!
In my spare time, I run a photography business, go on hikes with my family and travel to new places.
I am so blessed to be a small part of the Flourish journey! I couldn’t be more proud of these amazing women and what they are creating!
Cheers to a beautiful future!
